Eth[n]ic products for development
Kolours aims at giving every person the chance to paint a brighter future.
Kolours is a social enterprise: it empowers poor people by giving them the skills to produce, and the channels to sell their products.
When you buy Kolours products you contribute to empower women, poor and
disabled people: the revenues are entirely invested in the development
of training centers which support the poorest in learning a profession
and creating their businesses. The artifacts they produce are sold
locally and through Kolours.
Kolours is a non-for-profit organization which aims to be self-sustainable, supporting disadvantaged people to have the opportunity to come out of poverty and
social emargination by learning a qualifying profession, working, and
finally paint their own future!
With a focus on design
Kolours uniqueness is found in its focus on eth[n]ic design.
We aim not only at supporting disadvantaged people, such as disabled, orphans and people in extreme poverty: we want to do so through design, by connecting artists and designers with vocational training centers, where disadvantaged people can get the training and the designs to create ethic and ethnic, valuable products.
Kolours collaborates with designers of embroidered garmets, painters, jewelry and graphic designers from any corner of the world. The result are really global products, with a primary a unique design, primarely of Italo-Indian taste. The best of both worlds.
Kolours is an NGO, a non profit social enterprise based in Lugano, Switzerland and operating primarily in India.
